If we had to sum our dad up in three words, it would be - faith, family, farming. He was proud of the work ethic that he and mom passed on to their children and grandchildren. Not many can say that they have worked with all of their children and grandchildren, but he worked side by side with each of them and he counted that a privilege. Dad, or Gramp as all the grandkids called him, would say he was a fortunate man, with 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and a great-granddaughter on the way. Whether it was at the family's camp at #9 Lake, watching his children and grandchildren play sports or just getting together to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Wayne's most memorable moments were times spent with his family.

At different times in his life he was a selectman for the Town of Blaine, a deacon at Bridgewater Free Baptist Church and as he liked to put it, he lived long enough to be honored to have the Town of Blaine dedicate their annual report to him in 2019. Wayne was honored to have his family named the Farm Family of the Year in 2013 by the Maine Potato Board. Wayne's love for red tractors never changed over the years and this summer he enjoyed looking out his front window to see his antique tractors and truck proudly parked on the lawn. Wayne never shied away from the changes in farming - from GPS in the tractors to the long term storages, he was always looking forward to the latest advancements. He went into partnership with his son, Gregg, and they added trucking and land companies to their businesses along with being a part owner of Fox Family Potato Chips. Over the years the family and the farm grew. He bought a tractor-trailer and made over the road trips during the winter to support the family and farm. Wayne and Jackie started out growing 30 acres of potatoes. He quickly knew the banking life wasn't for him, and quit to start farming. Wayne started out as a banker at Northern National Bank. in 1960, and married his one and only, Jacqueline (Jackie) Townsend on April 17, 1962. Wayne was born April 17, 1942, in Mars Hill, the son of Stanley and Laura (McCrum) Garrison. Garrison, 79, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
